THE CONSEQUENCE OF IDEAS
I was watching a show about doctors one night with my wife called Private Practice. It was one of her favorite shows for awhile, but then there was an episode that made us both so sick that we just couldn't watch it. In this episode a crazy lady cut the baby out of a pregnant woman in an act of violence. The baby was far enough along that it survived as did the mother, but it was so graphic and so horrifying I could never imagine that such a thing could actually happen, even though I am fully aware of just how evil the world can actually be. I had totally forgotten about this until recently the news began to report that such an atrocity had actually happened in Colorado.
A young lady was selling baby clothes on Craigslist. This young lady also happened to be pregnant. A woman showed up at her door under the guise of wanting to buy the clothes but once inside she attacked the young woman, cut her open, and removed her baby. The baby did not survive outside the womb, but the mother was able to lock herself in a room and call 911 and waited until the police came.
The crime itself is horrible, but what shocked me the most is that the attacker is not being charged with murder because Colorado does not consider a baby inside the womb to be an actual person. That's right, she is not charged with murder because that baby wasn't a “real person.” How have we gotten so far off base that this could happen? It's been a slow process but much of it has to do with ideas put forth a long time ago by a lady named Margaret Sanger.
Margaret Sanger is hailed as a liberator of women's rights. She received many awards for her work as the founder of Planned Parenthood and Hillary Clinton claims she is an inspiration for her own work and life. But what started her movement was not just simply the desire for abortion or birth control to be legal and accessible, she had ideas about human beings that are at the foundation our current problems. She lived during a time when Hitler was a politician, and the foundation she started had Nazi sympathizers as core members who believed that the Nazi eugenics program was humane and a good idea. She was also a heavy racist who planted the first abortion clinic in black ghettos. Think I'm making all this up? Here she is in her own words;
“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”
Woman, Morality, and Birth Control. New York: New York Publishing Company, 1922. Page 12.
She also thought the government should be in control of who gets to have a baby so that poor people or people with what she considered “bad traits” would not be able to reproduce. She said,
“Article 1. The purpose of the American Baby Code shall be to provide for a better distribution of babies… and to protect society against the propagation and increase of the unfit.
Article 4. No woman shall have the legal right to bear a child, and no man shall have the right to become a father, without a permit.”
“Plan for Peace” from Birth Control Review (April 1932, pp. 107-108)
These radical ideas should shock us. Thankfully not all her ideas to root but one idea really sold and continues to this day. A baby in the womb isn't human, it's just a fetus. What does that mean? Well most people can't tell you but many people believe it. Nobody would buy the idea that we should exterminate the black race by killing the babies before they are born, but if we call it something else, remove the humanity from it, then maybe we can get them on board. This was her thinking and she got it from Nazi Germany. Have you ever wondered why Hitler was able to kill so many Jews without Germans standing in protest of such acts of violence? Well he had a very good propaganda machine and their main task was to convince people that Jews were not real people, but rodents, a mere nuisance to actual humans. Posters depicted Jews as being an ugly menace, and the propaganda movie called “The eternal Jews” was one of hitlers favorites because it depicted Jews as rats bent on taking over the world through their own filth. They released cartoons with Jews having big rat noses and teeth.
You see, if you can remove the humanity, and the soul from a person, then you can do whatever you want to them. The same thing happened with salves, they were called “property” and not considered to be equal so it didn't matter what you did to them. If you remove a persons humanity then you can convince people that killing them is okay, but first and foremost, you must remove that idea that they are actually human beings.
Why is this crazy lady who ripped a baby out of her mothers womb not being charged with murder? Because People like Maragret Sanger and organizations like planned parenthood have spent billion of dollars in propaganda telling you that a person is not a person inside the womb. She took that idea even further and said that large families should be allowed to kill their youngest child if it is too burdensome on the family.
If you want to make it okay to kill a baby, just call it a fetus. A fetus doesn't sound like a human being, it sounds like just a clump of cells, never mind the fact that it can feel pain, dream, and has a beating heart.
I fully hope that within a few generations our children will look back on this bloody moment in our history with disgust. Wondering how a civilized society could act in such a way, just like we currently do when it comes to slavery or the holocaust, some day we will look back on abortion, and hang our heads in shame knowing that we had a holocaust of our own and it was encouraged by a racist crazy person who somehow got hailed as a hero by the liberal left for starting planned parenthood in the ghettos of america in order to get rid of black people.
There is a lady in Colorado getting away with murder because of the ideas from people like Margaret and organizations like Planned Parenthood that have worked hard to continue propagating their founders ideas. This blog might outrage your, but I hope it makes you angry for the right reasons.
I hope our outrage is over the fact that a mother lost her child, and she will never have justice because society has deemed the child she loved, and wanted, and named, to be nothing more than a clump of cells with no humanity and no value. Ideas have consequences.
For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.
